⚡ The short version: The best laptop repair shop in Singapore for 2027 is the one that suits your laptop and your side of the island. In town, bring it to us at Bugis Street. In the East, PhoneDoctor at Parkway Parade in Marine Parade offers free diagnosis, a fixed quote before work starts, and a 90-day warranty. For a MacBook near Orchard, a gaming laptop, or a shop that publishes its prices, one of the other five below may fit better, and we say which.
WhatsApp Us 9131 8317 →PhoneDoctor Parkway ParadeWe are best known for desktops, but laptops come across our Bugis counter every week too, and many of them have already been through another shop. That gives us a fair idea of who repairs a fault properly and who quotes a new motherboard for a loose cable. These are the seven places we would trust with a laptop, depending on what you are carrying and where you live.
A disclosure before the list: two of the seven are not neutral picks. Number 1 is our own shop, and number 2 is PhoneDoctor Parkway Parade, where Budget PC’s Marine Parade repair service operates. We have put them first because we can vouch for the work. The other five are independent businesses. We have no commercial relationship with any of them, and their details below come from their own published information, checked in October 2026.

1. Budget PC Singapore (Bugis Street)
This is us, so read it with that in mind. Our Bugis Street shop repairs laptops as well as the desktops we are better known for. The useful part of being a shop that builds and refurbishes computers all day is that we stock and test parts ourselves, and we will tell you plainly when a repair is not worth the money.
The quickest way to start is to WhatsApp us the laptop model, the symptoms and a photo. We will tell you what it is likely to be and what it should cost before you make the trip, and we confirm the price with you before any work starts.
Where: Bugis Street #CFL A08 (behind the DBS ATM), Singapore 189876, a short walk from Bugis MRT. Open daily, 11am to 8pm. WhatsApp 9131 8317.
Best for: anyone in town or along the East-West and Downtown lines, and people with both a laptop and a desktop that need attention.
Worth knowing: if you live in the East, number 2 is closer and keeps later hours.
2. PhoneDoctor Parkway Parade (Marine Parade)
Do not let the name put you off. PhoneDoctor Parkway Parade is a full laptop and MacBook repair shop in the basement of Parkway Parade. It handles screen replacement, batteries, keyboards and trackpads, hinges, charging ports, liquid spills, overheating, SSD and RAM upgrades, and Windows or macOS reinstalls. For boards that will not power on, it does chip-level repair where a full motherboard swap is not needed, which is usually the difference between a sensible bill and a painful one.
The process is simple. You walk in, they diagnose the fault for free, explain it in plain English and give you a fixed quote. You only pay if you approve the repair, and the part and the work carry a 90-day warranty. Many repairs are done the same day, so you can drop the laptop off and shop or eat upstairs while you wait.
Brands covered include Apple MacBook Air and MacBook Pro, HP, Dell, Lenovo and ThinkPad, ASUS and ROG, Acer, MSI, Microsoft Surface, Huawei MateBook, Samsung Galaxy Book and Razer.
Where: Parkway Parade #B1-45, 80 Marine Parade Road, Singapore 449269, a short walk from Marine Parade MRT (TE26). Open daily, 11am to 9pm, including public holidays. WhatsApp 9777 7509.
Best for: anyone in Marine Parade, Katong, Joo Chiat, Siglap, Bedok or Tanah Merah, and households that also have a phone or a desktop to sort out in the same trip.
Worth knowing: walk-ins only, no appointments. Parts for less common models may need ordering, and they will tell you the timing with the quote.
3. Volta PC Upgrade & Repair (Tai Seng)
Volta has been repairing computers in Singapore for well over a decade. It works on all the major Windows brands, MacBooks and gaming laptops, and it is a good place for upgrades. Diagnosis is free for out-of-warranty devices, and you can park right outside its ground-floor unit.
Where: 8 Burn Road #01-04, Trivex, Singapore 369977, about five minutes on foot from Tai Seng MRT.
Best for: gaming laptops, SSD and RAM upgrades, and anyone living around Tai Seng, Paya Lebar or MacPherson.
Worth knowing: at the time of writing it is closed on Wednesdays, Sundays and public holidays. Volta used to trade as “Budget PC Upgrade & Repair”, but it is a separate company with no connection to Budget PC Singapore.
4. Notebook Repair (Tanjong Pagar and Bugis Junction)
Notebook Repair earns its place for one reason: it publishes a price list. Before you leave the house you can see what a screen, battery or keyboard is likely to cost, which very few shops allow. It repairs Windows laptops, Microsoft Surface, MacBooks and iMacs, and it also buys and trades in used devices.
Where: International Plaza #01-59, 10 Anson Road, Singapore 079903 (Tanjong Pagar MRT), and Bugis Junction #03-24, 200 Victoria Street, Singapore 188021.
Best for: office workers in the CBD, Surface owners, and anyone who wants a number before a conversation.
Worth knowing: the Bugis Junction branch opens daily from 11am to 8:30pm. The Tanjong Pagar shop keeps shorter hours and is closed on Sundays. Published prices are ranges, so the final figure still depends on your model.
5. The Repair Hospital (Aljunied)
Trading since 2012, The Repair Hospital is best known for laptops and covers the gaming brands many shops avoid, including Alienware, Razer, Predator, MSI and Aftershock. It also repairs tablets, phones and game consoles. It is a government registered vendor that handles repair, collection and on-site servicing for schools and offices, and it is a service provider for Harvey Norman extended warranties.
Where: ATRIX, 82 Lorong 23 Geylang #06-12, Singapore 388409, near Aljunied MRT. Open Monday to Saturday, 11am to 7pm. There is also a drop-off point in Clementi (Blk 328 Clementi Avenue 2), by appointment only.
Best for: gaming laptops, school and office fleets, and people in the West who can use the Clementi drop-off.
Worth knowing: closed on Sundays and public holidays. Its website does not state a diagnosis fee, so ask when you book.
6. Come To Repair (Far East Plaza, Orchard)
The MacBook specialist on this list. Come To Repair is run by Apple-certified Mac and iOS technicians, and repairs are done face to face at the counter, so you can watch your own laptop being opened. Diagnosis is free and comes with a price before you commit. It also takes Windows laptops and Microsoft Surface devices.
Where: Far East Plaza #01-80, 14 Scotts Road, Singapore 228213, a short walk from Orchard MRT. Open 12pm to 7:30pm.
Best for: MacBook Air and MacBook Pro owners, and anyone uneasy about leaving a laptop full of personal files behind a counter.
Worth knowing: closed on Wednesdays, and it opens at noon.
7. PC Dreams (Bugis Junction)
PC Dreams has been around since 2005 and is certified to ISO 9001 for quality and ISO 27001 for data security, which matters when the laptop holds work files. It offers free diagnosis with a no-fix-no-charge policy. Its real strength shows when a repair is not worth doing: it buys, trades in and sells refurbished laptops, so you can leave with a working machine on the same visit.
Where: Bugis Junction #03-25, 200 Victoria Street, Singapore 188021. Open daily, 11am to 8pm. There is also a drop-off and collection point at Sim Lim Square #03-40.
Best for: older laptops where you suspect replacement may be the smarter call, and company laptops with sensitive data.
Worth knowing: it operates under several brand names at Bugis Junction, so check the unit number before you go.
Still under warranty? Go to the brand first
If your laptop is inside its manufacturer warranty, or you bought an extended plan, start with the brand’s authorised service centre. A covered repair costs nothing, and opening the laptop elsewhere can complicate a later claim. The seven shops above are for everything else: laptops out of warranty, damage the warranty excludes such as drops and spills, and cases where the official quote is a full motherboard or screen assembly at close to the price of a new machine.
What laptop repair costs in Singapore going into 2027
Most shops quote after diagnosis, because the same fault costs very different amounts on different models. Notebook Repair is the exception and publishes ranges for Windows laptops, which make a useful yardstick whichever shop you choose.
| Job (Windows laptop) | Published range | Stated lead time |
|---|---|---|
| Screen replacement | $150 to $350 | 3 to 4 hours |
| Battery replacement | $100 to $250 | 1 to 2 hours |
| Keyboard repair or replacement | $100 to $350 | 3 to 4 hours |
| Speaker replacement | $80 to $150 | 1 to 2 hours |
| Virus and spyware removal | $100 to $140 | 4 to 5 hours |
| Data recovery, no hardware fault | $200 to $500 | 2 to 3 days |
Source: Notebook Repair’s public price list, checked October 2026. MacBooks, Surface devices and gaming laptops usually sit above these ranges. Memory and SSD prices have also climbed sharply this year, so upgrade quotes move quickly. Our RAM and SSD price guide explains why.
Five questions to ask before you hand over your laptop
- What does diagnosis cost if I decide not to repair? “Free diagnosis” sometimes means free only if you proceed. Get the number first.
- Is the replacement part original or compatible? This matters most for screens and batteries. Either can be fine, but you should know which you are paying for.
- Can the board be repaired instead of replaced? A chip-level repair often costs a fraction of a new motherboard. Ask before agreeing to a full swap.
- What warranty covers the repair, and for how long? Ask whether it covers the part, the labour or both.
- Will the repair touch my data? Most hardware repairs do not. Back up first if the laptop still turns on, and ask before any reinstall.
Two cases where you should not wait
A swollen battery. If the trackpad is lifting, the base no longer sits flat or the case is bulging, stop charging the laptop and take it in. A swollen battery is a fire risk and it will damage the trackpad and keyboard above it.
A liquid spill. Switch the laptop off, unplug it and do not dry it with heat. Do not turn it back on to “check”. Corrosion starts within hours, and a board cleaned the same day is far more likely to survive than one left over a weekend.
Repair or replace?
A new battery or an SSD upgrade can add years to a laptop for far less than a replacement, so those are almost always worth doing. A motherboard failure on a six-year-old budget laptop usually is not. As a rule of thumb, if the repair costs more than about half the price of an equivalent machine, replace it. If you mostly use the laptop at a desk, it is worth pricing a tested refurbished office PC as well. You get more performance for the money, and a desktop is far cheaper to repair later.
