What is RAM? (Memory)
RAM (Random Access Memory) is your PC’s short-term memory — it holds everything currently running so the CPU can access it instantly.
How it works
When you open Chrome, a game, or Excel, they load into RAM. Run out of RAM and your PC starts using the much slower SSD instead — that’s when things get laggy. RAM comes in generations: DDR4 (still excellent value) and newer, faster DDR5.
How much do you need?
16GB is today’s sweet spot for gaming and office work — nearly all our builds include it. 32GB helps with heavy multitasking, content creation and AI workloads. 64GB (like our Alienware build) is workstation territory.
