What is CUDA?
CUDA is NVIDIA’s parallel computing platform — the software layer that lets programs use the GPU for general computation, not just graphics. Nearly all AI software is built on it.
Why it matters when buying an AI PC
PyTorch, TensorFlow, Stable Diffusion, Ollama and most AI tools run best (or only) on CUDA. That’s why NVIDIA GPUs dominate AI: an RTX card “just works” with almost every AI project, while AMD’s alternative (ROCm) has far patchier support.
Which cards have CUDA?
Every NVIDIA GPU — from the RTX 2060 up to the RTX 5070 in our builds. More CUDA cores generally means faster AI processing, but VRAM still decides which models fit at all. If AI is your goal, choose NVIDIA; if it’s purely gaming or creative work, AMD cards like the RX 7800 XT are excellent value.
